International

International students are welcome to apply for the Academy. Students coming from overseas will need to apply and qualify for an appropriate visa to enter and remain in Australia. Visa information can be found on The Australian Government website at: immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing Unfortunately, we are not able to offer our accredited course to international students at this stage, so student visas will not be an option. However, you can still join us as an audited student.

Living in Brisbane

Brisbane is the 3rd largest city in Australia and the capital city of Queensland. Located in South East Queensland, Brisbane is a place like no other. The weather is perfect all year round allowing for an outdoor lifestyle of adventure and enjoyment. A year spent at the Academy is made even better by spending a year in Brisbane.

Climate

Brisbane’s climate is subtropical. It is hot in the summer and warm in the winter. When dressing for summer bring light cool clothing. Swimwear is a must because you will probably spend a lot of time at some of our beautiful beaches. A hat and sun cream are also essential, particularly if you are spending time outdoors. Winter does get chilly in the evenings so pack some warm clothes. Generally, when the sun comes out during the day a jumper will be sufficient. Remember that the climate varies throughout Australia and gets cooler the further south you go.

Cost of Living

Brisbane is an extremely liveable city. It is recommended that you budget between $250-$350 per week for living expenses. This will generally cover accommodation, groceries, bills and transport. Please note that this is only a guide.

Transport

Brisbane has an ample and varied transport network. Transport in and around the city and its suburbs is made easy with the comprehensive train, bus and ferry network. The Glory City Academy is located in the south side of Brisbane, close to bus stops.
