Survey of the Old Testament
Go deeper in God’s word with a thorough survey of the Old Testament. Students will read through the entire Old Testament and learn at an introductory level the significant cultural and historical information required to frame their interpretation of scripture. The lectures and assessments will focus on the books, authors, general themes, concepts, historical concepts and teach students how to find Jesus in the Old Testament. Students will be equipped with basic exegetical strategies to understand Scripture and will be challenged to apply the truths of Scripture to their personal lives and contemporary situations.
Introduction to Christian Doctrines
Introduction to Christian Doctrines is the foundational unit of the Glory City Academy. It teaches a strong understanding for students to grow in their faith. Come discover what the Bible has to say about God, Creation and the Fall, the nature of humanity, angels and demons, the atonement and resurrection of Christ and much more.
Introduction to Christian Leadership
Introduction to Christian Leadership is a unit focused on self-leadership and personal discipleship. Students are taught spiritual disciplines, character integrity and basic self and small group leadership principles to equip them to serve the Church in greater capacity. This unit also covers the traits and behaviours of Biblically sound leadership, how to identify leaders in the real world and in turn, how to develop oneself as a leader.
Transformational Leadership
Transformational Leadership teaches students how to apply basic leadership principles in a variety of Ministry and workplace environments. Covering topics like Natural Vs. Spiritual Leadership, the Art of Delegating and the Sacrifices of Leadership, students will learn practical skills as well as the theory behind leadership principles. The unit culminates in a panel with a variety of established leaders, to ensure students are learning what is used in workplaces today.
Supervised Ministry 1
An internship unit that allows students to learn the practice of ministry in the local church setting. This unit will build important skills regardless of which vocation students plan to pursue. Students may choose to pursue an internship in areas including the following: pastoral care, creative ministry, youth ministry and children’s ministry. This subject requires oversight from the referring church in order to provide a mentor for the student.
Survey of the New Testament
Go deeper in God’s word with a thorough survey of the New Testament. Students will read through the entire New Testament and learn at an introductory level the significant cultural and historical information required to frame their interpretation of scripture. Lectures will unite the Old and New Testaments, helping students to learn how Scripture can interpret Scripture. Come join us as we discover who Jesus is, and who He has called the Church to be.
Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
This unit is a central part of the Diploma of Leadership at the Glory City Academy and deals with our Pentecostal distinctives and philosophy of ministry. Students will study and prepare assessments about the Holy Spirit, but more than that, students will be trained to operate in the miraculous gifts of the Spirit. Each lecture and tutorial have both a scriptural and a practical component which will encourage students to grow in their understanding of the Move of the Spirit in an environment of encounter.
Basics of Pastoral Preaching
Basics of Pastoral Preaching is a unit which equips students with the tools to develop their communication skills. Not only do students learn about the art of preaching but they are given the tools to differentiate between skill and operating under the anointing. Students learn to tailor sermons in response to a variety of contexts and operate with the Holy Spirit in delivering the Gospel message. Basics of Pastoral Preaching is assessed by delivering a testimony, a sermon and a speech.
Living in the Miraculous
This subject equips students to walk confidently in the supernatural power of God, providing a biblical and theological foundation for understanding and participating in the ministry of healing and the miraculous. Grounded in sound biblical teaching, students will explore the foundations for healing and miracles, receive practical tools for ministry, and learn from lecturers who actively operate in the gift of healing. Through a combination of biblical study, real-life testimonies, hands-on practice, and impartation, students will be prepared to minister with faith, wisdom, and compassion, walking in the reality of God’s miraculous power in everyday life.
Mighty in the Scriptures
This subject is designed to equip students with the foundational skills of biblical interpretation and apply them directly in the study of Scripture. Beginning with an introduction to key principles of hermeneutics, students will learn how to responsibly and faithfully engage with the biblical text. These skills will then be applied through a detailed, verse-by-verse study of the book of Hebrews, exploring its rich theology, Christ-centered message, and practical relevance for the Church today. By combining sound interpretive tools with close engagement in Hebrews, students will grow in confidence, clarity, and maturity in handling the Word of God.
Father Heart of God
This course invites students into a deeper understanding and experience of God’s love as Father. Through biblical study, theological reflection, and guided spiritual practice, students will explore the heart of the gospel: reconciliation with God and life lived in intimacy with Him. Emphasis will be placed on knowing God not only intellectually but personally, allowing His love to bring healing, freedom, and transformation. Students will be equipped to cultivate a secure identity as children of God and to minister His Fatherly love to others.
Prophetic Basics and Activation
Prophetic Practice
Prophetic Practice focuses on the maturation of the prophetic gift within each student. Building on the basics of the gift of prophecy, students will outwork what they have learned in the first year stream and learn how to grow in spiritual authority as a prophetic community. Students will also dive deeper into the mysteries of the Spirit and further discover how the Spirit realm operates.
Life with the Spirit
Life with the Spirit establishes a value for the Spirit and the Presence of God in the lives of the students. Life with the Spirit is a practical unit where students learn to navigate the Anointing, and differentiate the voice of the Father from with their internal voice. This produces students who value the Presence of the Lord and develop a deep life with the Spirit.
Introduction to Church History
Early Church History traces Christian history from Christ, to the birth of the Pentecostal movement. While students are being introduced to the rich history and tradition of the Christian Church, they will focus on the heroes and villains of the faith. This subject is also intended to impart a deeper knowledge of Pentecostal heritage as well. Students will learn; key figures in the Christian Church; doctrinal disputes; the creeds; the reformation and various renewal movements within modern Church history.
Biblical Hermeneutics
In this unit we examine a variety of hermeneutical methods, with specific focus on the hermeneutical principles involved with interpretation and application in 21st century ministry contexts. Some of the topics we look at include; Online Word Study Tools, Good vs Bad Interpretation, Memorising Scripture, Use of the Old Testament in the New, Holy Spirit and the Word of God and many more.
Introduction to Personal Transformation
Personal Transformation explores the intersection of theology and psychology as we journey through topics such as suffering and the effects of trauma on humanity. This unit will look to scripture as a basis for God’s pathway for healing and wholeness in us as tripartite sons and daughters. In the context of this discussion, this unit will focus on emotionally healthy spirituality, the renewed mind, and stewarding the body for fruitful labour without burnout.
Unlocking Romans
Arguably the apex of Pauline thought, not to mention the New Testament theology, the letter to the Romans offers the clearest and fullest teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is an exegetical unit that will give students deeper insights into the historical situation of 1st century Christianity, the problems facing the emerging gentile church and the enduring truth of the Christian message.
Pentateuch
In Pentateuch, students will take a deep dive into the first 5 books of the Bible. This unit looks at the culture and customs of the day, while also exploring heroes of the faith, like Abraham and Moses. This unit will equip students in their exegesis of the Bible, by providing a strong understanding of the Law, and of God’s heart for His people.
The Person and Work of Christ
Explores the realm of Christology and Soteriology. Students will develop an in-depth understanding of the trinity; the person and nature of Christ and the work of the cross. This class expands on the orthodox theology presented in Introduction to Christian Doctrines in the Diploma of Leadership and takes students to a deeper level.
Christian Ethics
Is a subject which teaches students how to think about making ethical decisions through various ethical frameworks. Students will be exposed to several ethical frameworks and their strengths and weaknesses, learn to think critically through them and assess their usefulness in a given scenario. This unit will teach students to consider their Christian ethic and how it answers the various contemporary issues in the 21st Century.
Supervised Ministry 2
Is the second of two serving subjects and expands upon Supervised Ministry 1. This unit places our students in the activity of their local church. It enables them to volunteer one day a week as part of their internship and develop the skills needed to best serve your church. This subject formalises the internship aspect of their Associate Degree and keeps their work practical. Serving for this subject may include; pastoral care; creative ministry; youth ministry; kids ministry; church conferences or anything that your church has a need for.
Freedom in Christ
This subject focuses on the transforming power of Christ to bring freedom, healing, and restoration. Students will study the biblical foundations of deliverance and inner healing, while also engaging with practical tools for addressing trauma, brokenness, and spiritual strongholds. The course combines theological depth with guided practice in a safe and supportive setting, led by experienced ministers in this field. Students will be equipped not only to experience greater freedom in their own lives, but also to minister Christ’s healing and wholeness to others.
Life of Purpose
This course equips students to step confidently into life beyond Glory City Academy, prepared to pursue their God-given calling in any sphere—whether in ministry, the workplace, or wider society. Through biblical teaching, personal formation, and practical tools, students will learn how to live with clarity, resilience, and vision. The focus is on developing character, confidence, and wisdom so that graduates are equipped to make a meaningful impact in the field to which God has called them.
Applied Prayer and Intercession
Building on the concepts and practice learnt in the first year, Applied Prayer and Intercession seeks to further cultivate and enhance a profound connection with the Holy Spirit by immersing students in the practice and discipline of prayer. Students are equipped further with tools and strategies that will enhance their prayer lives while putting these tools into practice on a regular basis. Prayer and Intercession are further solidified as a foundation in the lives of our students.
Purpose of the Prophetic
Building on Semester 1, students will study the work and movement of the Holy Spirit expressed through the gift of prophecy. The will learn how the prophetic operates and its roll in the earth today. Students will participate in activations that will increase their confidence and ability in hearing the voice of God as they grow as a prophetic community.
Prophetic Equipping
In the pursuit of love, students will participate in the practice of prophecy to see the Body of Christ built up. They will learn and actively engage in the role of prophecy in the area of leadership development, ministry implementation and the equipping of the saints. They will also continue to build and function as a prophetic community growing in authority, love and powers.
Multiply
In the "Multiply" evangelism unit, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to collaborate with the Holy Spirit and harness their individual spiritual gifts, enabling them to proficiently convey the Gospel of Jesus to diverse audiences, be it family, friends, or strangers. These skills are refined and put into practice through weekly outreach into the local community through our multiply activations unit.
New Testament Greek
Learn the Vocabulary and Grammar of New Testament Greek that will take your personal Bible study, preaching and exegesis of the New Testament to the next level. Taken together over a full year, these two units are designed to take a student who has no knowledge of Greek to being able to read, translate and understand passages in the Greek New Testament.
Johannine Literature
In this unit we look at John’s gospel and the three Johannine epistles, where we receive an intimate perspective on the life of Christ and its personal impact on our lives. Within the fourth gospel we find some of the most profound theological statements concerning the person of Christ. The opening chapters tell of the logos, the Word who became flesh, God among us. These bold statements are echoed in the words of Jesus Himself, proclaiming His divinity with the “I Am” statements.
Christian Apologetics
Equips students to give a reasoned defence of the Christian faith and engage in dialogue on matters of faith with authority and confidence. In particular this unit examines contemporary Atheist critiques of Christianity and helps students build a more robust and defensible faith. This unit provides basic yet vital tools for defending the Faith in the 21st century.
Book of Revelation
The book of Revelation is considered to be one of the most interesting yet confusing books of the Bible. In this subject, students will learn the various perspectives on the book of Revelation, and be equipped to form their own understanding.
Capstone Unit (Bible & Theology)
This unit will allow students to explore a ministry topic of their choosing. With support from College staff, students create an initiative to cause a positive impact on their society, through their chosen ministry. Students will endeavour that this projects have lasting changes, that go beyond their degree.
Reformation Theology
Martin Luther is known as a key leader in the Protestant Reformation. This unit will teach students the key players of the Protestant Reformation, and the beliefs that set them apart. Students will learn various topics including Martin Luther’s 95 Theses, and the differences between Calvinist and Arminian perspectives.

Revelation Nights is a part-time course that you can study accreditted or non-accreditted that spans over 2 years. Over that time you cover the accreditted subjects contained with in the 1st year course. subjects will alternate depending on where the subject rotation is up to each semester.

Future Pathways
The completed Diploma of Leadership can be used as credit equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor of Theology or Bachelor of Ministry.
Entry Requirements
Aged 21+ OR completion of Year 10
English Proficiency
Applicants whose entry qualifications were obtained in an institution where English is not the language of instruction normally require a minimum IELTS (or equivalent) score of 6.0 with no score less than 5.5 in all bands of the test. A student can be admitted provisionally into the Associate Degree of Theology and Ministry when they have an IELTS result of 6.0 with no score less than 5.5 in all bands of the test.
